37 Is The Magic Number - Again! was created by Keith g
Hi again all, I'm just in from my first real 'deepsky' imaging session in my backyard under clear skies this evening, I'm a rookie when it comes to this type of imaging, but I gave it a try with the '37' cluster NGC2169 in Orion.
All of this to me is new, and everything I done was manual - polar aligning, focusing through the scope, taking as many short exposures as possible to see what I would get - and I was surprised. It was taken with a Canon 300D through my C8 SCT. This is a stack of three 20sec exposures at ISO800.
Just slight alterations in ps...
I don't think it went to badly

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Nice job and great colours in this cluster.

Nice image Keith,
did you focus the image manually or did you use a PC?

Also, did you do much processing to get the yellows out of those stars or is that almost their natural colour?

Dave, all manual focus, no pc/laptop used, just my eye
Seanie, these are the stars natural colours, so it's nice that the camera picks these up well
Keith..
