First Shot of the Orion Nebula was created by Keith g
I had a go at the Orion Nebula M42 also this evening, and I'm delighted with the way it turned out No autoguiding whatsoever, this is a stack of five 20second exposures at ISO800 through my C8 SCT. I processed it in ps, and eliminated some weak noise using a program called noiseware.
I took about 15 exposures, many had some trailing due to ever so slight jolts from the telescopes motor, I did'nt think 'deepsky' could be so tough without an autoguider/laptop etc.
Well, here's my throw at it...

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

its a good start Keith
unless you have a high cost top end mount, auto-guiding is unfortunately essential, be it manually or with a camera.
The image I got of this object last november would have been impossible without me compensating for errors in the guiding.
How did you stack the images?

Welcome to narrow-field imaging... It'll break your heart!
That's a lovely shot and way better than my first faltering attempts! Well done. One for the album - now, get a better one
Cheers
