Hi,

Ideally, I'd like to get a very wide angle lens for my 300d, something in the 10mm range or so. Any recommendations anyone?

Thanks,

Thanks for the link Mark.

Ouch! Those lenses are very expensive!

Is there any way I could add some sort of focal reducer or something onto my existing lens? Is there such a thing for cameras?

Depends on how much you are willing to spend, but a lot of people are using the Sigma 10-20mm .
I have seen it for around 450 yoyos in Spectra Photo in Dundrum shopping centre.
It's on TECHNIKdirekt.de for 479 yoyos.

Some sample photographs taken with the lens are available on dpchallenge see www.dpchallenge.com/lens.php?LENS_ID=1193&view=submissions

Sigma has a new 8mm circular fisheye that is supposed to be good.Canon has an 8mm that is nice but a bit pricey. There is an old 6mm Nikor that is great but hard to find and a newer 8mm that is good. On a budget a Russian Peleng 8mm is supposed to be OK (they made lens for the military). A Russian Zenitar 16mm is said to be OK. Also a Konoptik Tegea 5.7 is liked by some. I've been searching fisheyes for a geologic full dome presentation. Look on Ebay.

Hope this helps

Michael,

Fisheyes are pretty expensive for a single photo type, the fisheye image.

The Canon 10-22mm has Paul suggestions costs over 700 yoyos because it has image stablization technology.

What sort of images do you want? Are you looking for the fisheye effect or is are you looking into landscape/wide-angle photography?
