That's a beaut picture. Nice details on the surface. The PST does a nice job, some SSIA money will definitely be going Coronado's way.
Are these the same sun spots that were visible at the 9 o'clock position on the 29th March and have now moved with the with the Sun's/Earth's rotation?

I would say so, they have the right shapes and would have rotated into our field of view more over the last week.
Michael, looks like to me you can actually see the sweet spot of the PST, maybe half way between the center and the edge of the disk?,

The PST is an absolute bargain. I debated for two years whether to buy or not. I eventually purchased at the Connaught Star Party. It has surpassed my expectations. The PST does a nice job, some SSIA money will definitely be going Coronado's way.
Good question! I was wondering the exact same thing this morning! Yes, they are the same ones - double-checked with the SOHO website. Are these the same sun spots that were visible at the 9 o'clock position on the 29th March and have now moved with the with the Sun's/Earth's rotation?

I was thinking about this this morning. I think it may be an artififact of the lens system (eyepiece-camera combo). The brighter area varies slightly in how I hold the camera to the eyepiece. The sweet spot in the PST is more in terms of detail rather than brightness, I think.

Looks like 'er in doors is in for a shock when our SSIAs mature next year. Let's see the list so far is:
1 x PST
1 x CPC 1100 GPS XLT
1 x dark sky
etc. etc. - well you can but dream, but the PST is a must.
