Here's my first ever Moon pic. Having got the hang of gain, and shutter speeds, on a harder target like Saturn, it seems to have paid off with this shot. The compressed jpeg removes some of the detail however.

Erik - believe it or not, no processing is done on this shot, its simply stacked using registax, and a bit of wavelet thingy mucking about to bring out the detail. 'Scuse the vernacular, this is still new to me and I haven't yet got the hang of all the technicalities (if there's such a word) of image capturing and processing. The only post processing done here apart from registax is to mirror reverse to correct for a star diagonal, and add a bit of text. Thanks for the comment!nice shot brightness contrast balanced verry well

Here's another one from tonight using a 2x barlow. The previous was at prime. Again - no processing bar Registax.

Sod it,
I may as well dump another image. I was really chuffed the way these worked out this evening. It was early enough so that the kids could see all the detail on the laptop screen as the images were being captured, and even my wife (luddite) was impressed with the images after stacking. I promise not to post any more of these tonight, but here's one of the south pole (is that the correct term?) of the moon.
