John,
You just about cought my 2 favourite craters, copernicus and tycho.
Those areas are great for detail, usually the best area for images.
There isnt much you can do about the "seeing", All you can do is keep trying and hope for a steady spell.

Dave,

Yeah, all we can do is persevere and hope for better seeing.
The pics above look dreadful on this site. The originals looked much better - all the detail is whited out in the bright areas above, even my jpegs here look better. Is there something I am missing. I know jpeg removes detail by compression, but is there further compression being performed on images loaded to this site??
