Image Capture Software ?? was created by JohnMurphy
Anybody got any advice on good - cheap or free - image capture software?
I'm almost out of my 30 day trial on K3CCDTools and may have to purchase something soon.
Any advice from eperienced users would be much appreciated.

Hi John,
Try the links section on the boards- I'm pretty sure you'll find quite a few free progs there.

John K3CCD seems a good choice to me since it will allow your interest expand. You can start off with lunar/planetary webcamming, it supports long exposure cameras and even autoguiding when you get to it.
I cant really comment on others as K3 is the only one I have used.

Thanks Dave, I'll bow down to your experience and register a copy of K3CCD. I really don't like the stacking and processing part of K3CCD, Registax seems to give much better results, so I guess I'll continue in this vein for a while yet.

stop!
Dont register until you've tried astrosnap. I think it's the best for lunar and planetary work-
Image always centred in field
real time integration
raw conversion on the fly
and theres a free one
its gets my vote
