Eirik - I need to tweak the mount a bit more to get longer unguided exposures. I have managed a 10 minute unguided exposure in the past but I'm currently having a little difficulty with Periodic Error. Tracking is fine but I get an odd little jump in the RA every now and then - I'm trying to nail it but it takes a fair bit of time.
As soon as I do, Rob Gendler better watch out (not).

Some great detail visible along the arms there, and you resisted well the temptation to exaggerate the levels to get more detail which would have distroyed the image in my opinion.
I wish my scope could go 10 minutes unguided.

I'm sure your scope could go unguided for as long as you want Dave. Youd just end up with streaks and blobs all over the place
And thanks for the comment - I process my images as little as possible - partly because I prefer the natural look and partly because it takes so blumming long... Even getting the levels right can take ages when you're dealing with a faint fuzzy with a bright core. Its a fine balance indeed...
I still haven't had anyone here volunteer as a processing partner

Is that an offer? Don't worry Eirik, if it is I would have no problem with you just trying your hand at it, whatever the results
