M13 - First Light with C80ED was created by Keith g
Hi all, last night was the best of a bad lot, so I decided to give imaging a go for the very first time through my new Celestron C80ED 3.1" Apochromatic refractor. The views through this baby are incredible  so I was hoping to get some good shots.
I polar aligned with my cg5 GOTO mount for the first time, a gave globular cluster M13 a go, 60 second exposure at ISO 800, unguided. I'm completely green at this business.....so here it is. Plain & Simple..

Nice image, but you could do with a barlow or powermate.
maybe M31 would be better for this fov.

Thanks Dave, I have a 2x barlow, I'll use that next time if I can get in focus, I had to bring the barrel right back to focus this shot....i'll see if it works..

That's a lovely image! The fact that the fieldof view is a lot bigger than M13 really adds to the image as it really emphasises the imensity of the concentration of stars there compared to the regular background.
