Hi, Keith here is my pencil sketch of M57 first one I ever did, inverted in Photo Shop.

From Bray, Co Wicklow.
M57 Ring Nebula in Lyra- May 2nd 2006 - 23:00 UT
Sky Watcher 200mm Reflector
10 mm Super Kellner Lens

Its a lovely smokey ring, so well captured in your photograph.

The mount seems to be working ok, but last night wasmy first night out with it, It would'nt go to any object I entered in, I think I messed up when inputting my time as 'standard' time, the mount woul always slew about 2hrs to the right of wherer my target ought to be....something to sort out

Thats a great wide field image of M57 and its neighbour stars...unusual to see. :D

Nice sketch Deirdre

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680
