Jupiter and Ganymede was created by dave_lillis
I was out again tonight getting a look at Jupiter and its features including the GRS. The seeing was still poor but a little better then last night so I tried getting an image.
I stacked 800 images of an avi to generate this,
Its a little soft but detail is still there, I missed a perfect view of the GRS by about an hour or so, its just visible at the nine o'clock position.
some reports on the web report it looking a little strange, but it was to far rotated away for me to see anything unusual.
Ganymede is also visible.

You know, I still let my bottom jaw hang a little bit when some of you folks say seeing was bad or it was bloody turbulent, so I only got small detail... They are still really nice shots of a difficult target!
Dave,
give yourself some more credit. I can see where the GRS is, and the cloud detail is still awesome in your soft image!

Very nice Dave - way more detail than I've ever got, excellent or poor seeing!

We are our own worst critics - but thats what keeps us striving for the next better shot.
Dave - Beaut image, I don't think my scope will give that kind of resolution, regardless of seeing. I'd be interested to know what settings you used on the webcam - the colours seem natural and uncontrived.

Fine image, especially when one considers the altitude of Jupiter at the mo. I was out for a few minutes with John O'Neill looking at Jupiter with the binoviewers. The turbulence in the atmosphere was unbelievable - make it difficult to get detail.
