M8 Lagoon Nebula was created by Keith g
I had a go at the Lagoon nebula also, it is probably best next to the Orion or Eta Carina nebula, it's another great summer object to view. This is a stack of 13 shots in all, 9x60sec ISO 800, 4x2min ISO 400 through the C80ED, unguided again.
Hope you like it !

When you say unguided do you mean you were tracking it manualy with the slow motion controls.

Nice Keith. I think the lagoon nebulosity coers a fair old chunk of sky so maybe that's what Seanie is seeing. But I'm not certain...

What's your current maximum exposure? This would be great one for a stack of 10 minute images...

Cheers

Dave

Seanie, as You can see from the slooth image, this nebula is very big , but there's a bit of noise there too, also there's a lot of milkyway to the bottom left too

Pioneer, no tracking at all, I have the goto mount which is motorised, but I spent a lot of time polar aligning and calibrating the mount - about 30 mins, so my tracking was good, I could get up to 3 minutes unguided :P

What's your current maximum exposure?

Dave, I found 3 minutes last night to be the max, pity I don't have an autoguiding set up - just yet

almost competes with Slooh's Lagoon

Thanks Marty, But I do think slooth has just a slightly bigger budget then I do
