Jupiter & Ganymede was created by TrevorDurity
Hi there,

First of all thanks to all who gave me advice on how to capture this object. Both Daves hit it on the button; my webcam was on auto and set itself to 15 frames per second! I eventually found a manual override for it and have used either 1/50 or 1/100.

Anyway, here are two shots I took last night. Luckily I seem to have captured the shadow transit of Ganymede (at least I think it was Ganymede).

Thanks again,

Nice images Trevor.
Mind me asking how many images did you take in each video clip before running it in Registax?

Nice one Trevor, they're grand images, good to see you sorted out the problem, what scope did you use to capture them?
Also, they appear to black and white, was this deliberate?

Thanks Guys,

The scope was an 8 inch Meade SCT with 2x barlow mounted on the cg5gt. I don't think I had the F6.3 focal reducer attached.
The vids were taken using a Quickcam Pro with an IR block filter.
The vids were 1300 and 1800 frames respectively. Quite a few were discarded.

I wondered about the colour too and checked if it was set to B&W, which it wasn't. It was still quite bright outside so maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway I'll check the next time I go to a dark site; Jupiter is behind trees for me after midnight if I haven't travelled with the scope.
Can't wait to get more shots of this object now!

Might there be a saturation slider, this affect the colour also.?
I also find that too much gamma washes the colour out.
