Get the cheapest you can - Dell outlet have some great bargains. Tesco were doing laptops a while back but I don't think were terribly cheap...


They were Ikon lappies - not recommended!

Agree with Seanie here- they are terrible. Steer clear of Tesco laptops.

Personally I'd be very wary of buying a second hand laptop. Laptops tend to take a lot of abuse and age rather badly. You'd need to make sure they include a new battery and have a good look at it before you buy it. Some of the backlights on the screens lose their power too and the display can look washed out.

Try before you buy.

I've had dozens of 2nd hand laptops (when a certain large company gets new ones I get to keep the old ones) and I find the IBM's are rock solid. Panasonic Toughbooks are great too, but you pay for the durability. Toshibas have given me quite a lot of trouble.

Dell have good entry grade laptops that are cheap, starting at €479.
