Thanks for the replies lads, you are not gonna believe, I set up in the back garden to check out the problem, I had'nt changed a thing, and I find that my cigarette lighter adapter is loose attached to my celestron powertank, seems that not enough power was going to the motors at all, so they were probably struggling along :twisted:
Another one for the idiocy awards :oops:
Moving the axes with the hand controller was no problem what so ever, no clicking or anything, all seemed fine, they moved immediately.
I doubt the battery was cold, on a mid summers night that is a lame excuse

We should set up an annual "Darwin Award" scheme, except it should be based on a telescope/astronomy experiance.
