Gamma Cygni area was created by Jed Glover
Hi All,
Have just bought a Canon 30D so the 350d is about to go under the knife!
Clear skies here last night so I thought a before and after picture was in order and chose the area around Gamma Cygni as a resonable test area.
During shooting I did have about 50% moon 45 degrees away but it does not seem to have made a dramatic differance.
First time out of the block for the following new equipment;
William Optics 0.8x focal reducer
Astronomic IR/UV block filter (You may notice less blue arounf bright stars now!)
Anyway here is the image including loads of objects;
IC1318 (including dark nebula B347)
DO10
DO11
DO6
Cr421
Do11
DO9
DO43
NGC6910
Cr419
DO44
And that is the high points

That is some starfield you've captured there Jed! Worthy of a large print on glossy printer mounted on a white mount and black frame for all to see... seriously! Absolutely superb.

Fabulously detailed image Jed, the nebula looks great.
Do you have a way of removing the blue halos from around some of the brighter stars?

Jed - I'd just echo Dave's comment - can you get rid of the halos? Presumably they are just a processing artifact.
The nebulosity is good and really clear - I bet without the halos it would look even better. Colour saturation seems a tad harsh for my liking but that's a purely personal preference. But the colour range is superb.
As it stands, I really think (and hope) you can process this so it looks even better - but as it is, its a nice image. Well done!
Cheers
Dave
