but what a way to go.
+ 12"LX200, MK67, Meade2045, 4"refractor

Thanks Dave, but I really did very little (some times less is more!) All I did to the raw image was:-
1. Adjust Gamma to 1.4
2. Applied an unsharp mask with radius 2, Strength 100%, Clipping 10
3. Repeated step 2
4. Very slight adjustments in brightness and contrast
That is it. I made no other adjustments. I find that repeating a gentle unsharp mask gives better results than one agressive one. I used Paint shop Pro version 5.

They all look good. I'll try another reprocess on it sometime. Since I now have some processing time under my belt. I like to keep my images as they where so I have sort of a record of my improvements. M57 was taken last year. Haven't gotten it this year yet.
