M15, pegasus globular cluster was created by dave_lillis
Hi,
I was observing on monday night and had a good look at the low full moon, the sky never got dark and always had a blue hue to it, so I put the canon on the scope and had a go at getting a few shots of M15 in Pegasus.

the seeing wasnt great, this is a single 2 minute frame at iso1600 with the 300D on the 12".
The core of the cluster is very bright relative to its outer areas so make for a challenging target. I found this MUCH harder to process then a nebula image.
There is slight trailing as evident in the top star, I had to take the scope off the mount again a few weeks back and polar allignment is not right, I suspect the base is not exactly level.

Thats a grand image Dave. Very good for a single exposure. Wait till you see what you'll get with 20 of those stacked!! Tracking looks pretty decent. Were you autoguiding? I see what you mean about the top star again a stacked sequence would help average out tiny errors like that.

That's a good attempt, so many stars  I think i read somewhere that M15 is actually the brightest globular in the northern hemisphere ???

Thanx guys, I thought M13 was the brightest globular, I was thinking of going for that but it was too low by the time I got around to it.
Dave,
I wasnt using autoguiding this time around, I also want to reduce the periodic error more and I want to get the polar alignment bang on before I try that, the less varialbes in the pan the better.
TBH, I nearly didnt put it up, and wouldnt have except that I havent seen a M15 image up here before.
I had to take the scope off the pier a few weeks back again and now for some reason, the polar alignment just isnt working as well.
