Milkyway Centre in Sagittarius was created by Keith g
Hi all again, I also had a go last week at the centre of the Milkyway in Sagittarius, with all it's wonders. This aprt of the sky is amazing. There's M8 the lagoon nebula, M20 & M21, Globular clusters M22 & M28 top left, plus many NGC one's here. I can also see the dark dust feature below centre called Barnard 86, right beside a starcluster NGC 6520, silhouetted aginst the light of countless stars.
The 3 brightest stars left are the stars of the 'spout' of Sagittarius, and I also notice that the dust clouds at right seem more hazy than those at left, probably due to the fact that they are closer to earth !
I should have went to ISO 800 on this one instead of 400, It's still a bit dark, but I think it's a nice shot. Truely a Lovely area in binoculars. I could spend a half hour putting labels on each object, there is so much to see here.....
Details: A Stack of 14 two minute exposures at f4.5, ISO400, 10 dark frames, 85mm f1.8 usm lens, Canon 300D. Taken on the night of August 2nd 2006, piggybacked on a C8.
What do you think???
