On the back of the definition committee's decision of the SIAU[1] regarding closed clusters, here is a definite globular cluster for your delectation.

Good shot Dave, M2 is a good globular to look at, It's bright, and fairly easy to find.
I'll try and have a go myself once my mount is sorted out

Fine image Dave, especially for 60sec exposures!

Really nice image Dave. Slight hint of trailing (from bottom right to upper left), but all round a nice closed globular system there!

Hi Dave,
Nice work! Globular clusters are a challenge to process due to the overwhelmingly bright core. I am still NOT up to full speed due to a couple of minor problems but here are some initial and quick and dirty results involving an open cluster (NGC 457 in Cas) and a globular cluster (M15 in Peg):

www.astrocyprus.net/site/album_showpage.php?full=&pic_id=80

I have a few weeks at my disposal to get my two minor glitches sorted out so that I can submit something for Mr Morris' monthly contest.
Clear skies to everyone!
Anthony.
