Mostly clouded out near Birr. Couple of shots in the Venus file. My OMCAM Pro is an OM1 film camera with a modified Phillips Vesta at the film plane. In order to get all of the Sun on the small chip I used a 200mm lens at f/11

Hi Dave,
Some nice pics there despite the clouds.
I particularily like the close up of Venus.

We had a primary-school girl on Sandymount strand who got quite an acceptable shot of the transit by placing her camera-phone over the eyepiece! I was amazed at how well it came out.
Well doen again Anthony; and congratulations on the Lunar eclipse sequence that was shown on The Sky at Night last Sunday (repeat on Saturday 12 June). More very impressive shots.

Dear Shane,
Thank you for the information in relation to The Sky At Night. I was absolutely floored when the show's producer called on behalf of Sir Patrick asking for the image!
She apologized for not being able to offer any sort of payment but I did assure her that Sir Patrick's request and the appearance of the work on his show was payment in itself.
I do get the BBC on satellite but it is the international version and I do not think they carry The Sky At Night. Damn it.
Anthony.

Stephen/Michael/Dave,
Thank you for the kind words. I may have been barbequed under the hot Mediterranean sun for the seven-hour exercise but it was certainly worth it. So much so that I am seriously thinking of travelling to the US or Australia in 2012 to get a second shot at Aphrodite once again.
Anthony.
