Rare photo ... Major lunar standstill was created by ayiomamitis
Dear Friends (and Seanie),
Here is a very unique photo which I believe is the first of its kind on the basis of various failed internet searches: www.perseus.gr/Astro-Lunar-Scenes-Major-Standstill-2006.htm ... please make sure you click on the photo when the page loads to get a larger version.
Oh yeah, click on the photo after reading the text on the upper part of the page and which explains both the phenomenon and concept behind the photo.

Do the power lines only appear at sunrise?

The electrical company decided to expand the electrical facilities in the area at the most inopportune time (mid-project for me). I begged and pleaded with them to wait a week before proceeding with their work so that I can complete my project. I do not know if they laughed harder at my request or the project in progress which I described to them.
The good thing is that the house has an additional floor which I will be using for all future widefield work so as to bypass these damn wires.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice?!Do the power lines only appear at sunrise?

As luck would have it, SpaceWeather today has the second half of this project. Please see www.spaceweather.com/ and/or www.perseus.gr/Astro-Solar-Scenes-Sunrise-Seas.htm .
What the sun accomplishes in six months' time, the moon does the same in less than two weeks at the end of the Saros cycle.
