Just how good is the mag guys? Just looking at the sub price 74.50 for 12 months. At over 6 big ones per issue, it would need to be fairly decent.

How many pages per issue?

Dave,

The name of the magazine, Practical Astronomer, is very accurate. For example, you want to know how to best use the unsharp masking in PS? How about curves in PS? How about using PemPro to finetune your polar alignment and correct your periodic error? It is such articles and information you will find in the magazine.

Very hands on and very practical ... as the title suggests. I suggest you pick up a recent back issue and go from there.

I agree that the price is a little high but the magazine is different with minimal advertising and lots of material.

Yes, that's something that struck me too. Decent length articles and minimal advertising. I agree however that it is expensive.
