We lucked out in Kerry last night. We had good seeing for most of the night and then some top notch seeing on top of that.

Cheers

You're right Dave, and that is something I always overlook, perhaps because I just don't get to do astrophotography! My bad!

A good start Carl,
Did you use a 3x barlow with the C14 ?
I would tone down the red on the disk of the planet, its a bit strong, others might disagree.
How many frames did you stack to get this ?

Well done Carl!

Theres loads there, especially good color reproduction.
Try using wavelets set at 1 and 0 (I think by the looks u used about 2 - 0 or 2-1) this gives a less blotchy look.
Try also Dave tylers method and just stack the rgb and see what happens - how many frames per channel.
When waveletting do not over sharpen once you see noise come back a bit. You can also adjust the amount of noise by changing the middle number in the wavelet filter box - the higher this number (default is 50) the less effect (and hence less noise) each wavelet has.

well done again, it wont be long b4 your competeing with MR Peach and his Pals!!

Fine image Carl. Nice variation of colour across the disc!

Hi Dave,
i used the barlow 3 maybe i should have waited for better seeing conditions,i have some avi's with the barlow 2 that i still have to process.

i would tone down the red but i don't know how to, i had a lot of trouble trying to combine the lrgb in photoshop as i have never done that before so if anyone has any tips on how to combine l r g b in photoshop i'm all ears. poor david grennan tried but wasn't too sure how to do the planets i still love ya dg1

as for how many frames i did 180sec in L 40sec in R 40sec in G 40sec in b 15 frames per sec.

its a lot of hard work and a lot of learning to do when doing rgb but it will be worth it when i get a bit more experience, rome wasn't built in a day
unlike tullamore seanie
