I must locate Pete's image of Saturn from the same session where it looks absolutely stunning in full/regular size.

Great image,
I can imagine that the moon would have been over exposed in each shot of the planet, there must have been a fair amount of work removing that glare from the planet shots, alot of effort went into this image !.

Remember guys (Dave Lillis anyway!) a couple years ago on these forums when I used to give out about how digital astrophotography has made it too easy to take nice astro pictures? Well, this is a perfect example of what I mean! :D Sure, it's a nice picture and all, but it is not REAL. Would make a nice postcard though.

? Not real ? I would disagree, it not like he superimposed a picture of the space shuttle in there, as long as Saturn did pass by the moon as indicated by the picture and the image is generated from images of the event then it is a real image, all be it a highly processed image.
Show me a real image of M31.

There is nothing easy about this Saturn/moon image, I know as I do a fair amount of planetary imaging.

For me it just looks way over processed. There just should not be that level of detail on saturn while that close to the moon. I just think it is over processed. There was some much better images posted here of the last close pass at the start of february.

Cheers

But trevor this guy is using seriously big equipment! A 14" SCT and a lumenera cam! I doubt it is HUGELY processed yet i dont doubt alot of time was spent! Well i like it! That amount of detail could be expected and if the detail is there whats wrong with uncovering it? :D
