Well it's taken a long long time to finally get a half decent image of these objects. M81 needs so much data!
Still amazes me to think we're actually seeing what they looked like 12 million years ago.
Zenithstar 66SD + Sac10
ASGT guided with NexImage & PHD on Megrez 90FD
12x 3min + 8x6min subs.
Stacked in Nebulosity (average) & gradient removal + curves in PS.
Quick & dirty processing (but I'm supposed to be working ). Will need to fix it up later.

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .

Thanks Matt.
Was hard to get with the crazy weather last night. If it wasn't for the popup observer tent I'd have had to give it up as it poured down every 45 minutes or so, not to mention that crazy wind!!!
Glad I stuck with it because when it was clear it was really clear!

At a quick glance, that is a fantastic image Trevor. The colours in there seem natural too, nice touch!

Wonderful Trevor, well guided and nice detail. Great stuff!
More data will make the detail sharper. I suggest you are using a bit high JPG compression when saving this image. That results in a lot of 'artifacts' which can take from an image slightly.
Anyway well done on a lovely capture!
