Leo Triplet & M101 was created by phoenix
On Tuesday night I got the Leo Triplet (while sitting open mouthed looking at Michaels M63 image)

Not too happy with the colour balance though.
Last night I went for M101 but lost about 20 mins of data due to the dam LED lights.

I am actually glad to see some clouds tonight... three clear nights and next to no sleep.

Hi Kieran,
clunk!, that's the sound of my jaw hitting the floor upon opening the second image , it is just fantastic !!
The amount of detail in the arms!, what scope+camera was this taken with ?
The first image is a bit yellow, like you say, colour balance in the issue there.

Taken with the 10" at F10 using the H16 binned at 2x2. Seeing was fairly poor and focusing the camera was a complete nightmare. This was as as close to focus as I could get

Super images Kieran!
With the first one, I think it just needs a slight balancing of the colour. Some of the stars look a little green but the galaxies look pretty good.
The second image is fantastic!!! Great detail!

Both stunning images! The detail in M101 always leaves me speachless. Such a wonderful galaxy to image. Nothing special visually but with an imager it's a real gem.

Apologies to Dave Lillis,
I was watching Battlestar Gallactica episodes downloaded from the US(way ahead of Sky 1) when I responded to his post. M101 was with the 10" and the triplets was with the 80mm.
The colour balance with the triplet was difficult because it was in the direction of my worst light pollution. Normally its not as bad but there was a bit of low level haze which caused a mismatch in the colour images. This was the best I could do. PS Michael you have all these problems to look forward to.
