Top Class images Kieran. I know exactly what you mean about the colour balancing. It can be a right nightmare!!! I think you've done a good job. I tricked about with your image a bit but after a few goes I thought, well maybe I prefer that balance but who is to say anyone else would. What I'm saying your take on a colour balance is just as valid as any other.
Nice job on 101. That is one amazingly difficult target as I found out tonight trying to get a decent image out of a data set for it. You got some lovely detail in there. One question. Is the aspect ratio correct? It does look a little stretched to me.
Anyway congrats on two fine images.

Dave,
Aspect might be a bit off. I imaged and stacked with astroart. Then took the image into MaximDl (M ) for processing. I saved the image it was rotated and reversed when I brought it into photoshop for final processing. I swapped the image back to the original orientation and some of the aspect may have changed. I will have to check.
PS If you want I can send you thr RGB fits files and you can play with the raw data.

Kieran,
that is a fantacstic image! You've got a winner there!
Regarding the colours. Some said there's too much yellow, Mike said thee's too much green. Me? I'm going for the red! Some of the larger stars all show a red tinge. There 'too much yellow' can probably be highlighted by the fact that the galaxies are over-bright? Now, thats just an opinion, but perhaps they shouldn't be as bright as they are?
