now imaging m101 was created by phoenix
Has anyone done any rgb images of m101. I have just taken the red set of images and they are fairly dead looking. I kept going back to the scope to check for dew. Green images seem to be fine. Red may be lacking in this galaxy but not sure . Might try some h alpha after blue images.

I took some mono 101 images last night - its a tricky subject at the best of times - seems to have a fairly low surface brightness (compaered to say M51).

Dave,

It costantly looks blurred in the sub frames but the red images are worthless so I am now taking some H alpha to see what the result will be.

Kieran - don't throw out the red frames just yet! See what happens when you combine all the subs. It may turn out OK.
