M86 and Virgo Cluster - 24/03/2007 was created by michaeloconnell
Image taken last night
12 x 10min exposures @ 500mm focal length

Also picked up a little satellite/asteroid at bottom centre. Trying to find out at the moment what it is. It was in all the frames as a single dot and so didn't take any notice of it until I combined the images.

I'd love to image this area with a much wider FOV. The galaxies shown here are but a small portion of the ones in the Virgo group.

Fantastic image Michael, I love the detail that you've managed to capture, especially in the spiral above M86, the dust lane looks wonderful.

Congratulations.

Paul

A++ Michael. Stunning stuff. Cant fault it at all.

Is this a crop or the entire FOV of the chip?

Just cropped off the border from the areas overlapped and a small bit off the right hand side of the image so as to adjust the aspect ratio to a less rectangular shape. What you see is about 85% of the total imaging area, at a guess.
