M101 colour effort was created by phoenix
The link below is last nights attempt at M101. Red was fairly unresponsive so I combined the red with some H alpha frames to try and compensate. Still not happy with this.

Super resolution Kieran!

This was with the 10" I presume was it? Any idea how many exposures?

Apart from the distinctive red areas which I presume are from the h-alpha channel which is fine, the central area is slightly pink with the outer arms blue. How this can be made more "natural" looking, I'm not sure - there's a reason why I have stuck to monochrome you know! :) I played with the image in PS a little. I noticed that the core is coming in as Magenta. If you reduce the saturation of the Magenta channel, it helps a little I think.
Just my 2cent.

Great image though all the same!!

Stunning detail :P
As mike says, looks like the core is a little too pink/magenta.

The luminance image was 68 minutes(4 minute subs) and green, blue & red with H alpha all about 30 minutes(1-2 minute subs). Its possible that the red filter had dew on it during imaging. I had meant to go back to red imaging after the H alpha but I got distracted by doing some luminance onlys of M81, M82 and M63. I was having a ball untill I checked the time... 5.25am.
