Carrying around my 20" obsession is going to kill me,
but what a way to go.
+ 12"LX200, MK67, Meade2045, 4"refractor

It has to be said that separate LRGB colour deepsky imaging is sooo much more demanding then anything else out there,

Filter wheel is the poor mans version, the Astro Engineering manual. Its open at one end so with alot of dew about the filters and ccd cover glass tend to dew out and need to be zapped with the hair dryer now and then. I had the scope tracking and imaging while sitting in the house in comfort so it was late into the red imaging before I checked the results. I will upgrade to a Truetek when the pocket allows.

Completely missed this post! Thats a very fine image. I see what you mean about the red being unresponsive. Still you've gotta be pleased with an image like that.

This is a sweet image and there is nothing to regret. I doubt if world-class observatories could do anything better 20 years ago.
