M51 in LRGB was created by Gary Clarke
Hi Guys,
Myself and Dave Grennan managed to get out last night ffor the first real run out with the new ST8. We spent the night imaging M51 and I am pretty pleased with how it went overall.
7th April 2007, Co.Wicklow. CGE 11" scope @f/6.3, SBIG ST8-XME, Astronomik LRGB filters. 12 x 5 min L, 6 x 5 mins RGB. Processed Images Plus, CS2, Neat Image Pro.

Hi lads,
I have to say that is one of the best images of m51 i have ever seen, the detail is great , it is one of my all time favorite galaxy to look at in a telescope,the difference when imaging in dark skies is very noticeable great work and well done.

Great work guys, a really superb amount of detail and colour there! Do you mind some critical comments though? I'm a hoor for them!

Magic image Gary, looking forward to seeing more.
I was able to see some of the brighter stars in the foreground of the galaxy last weekend for the first time as well as the arms.
