Leo Triplet from Last Night was created by TrevorDurity
Hi all,
According to our great Met service it was supposed to be cloudy last night but low and behold it was very clear in between hazy patches so I captured the Leo Triplet (M65, M66 & NGC 3628 - 35million light years away!).
The triplet taken with a doublet Surprised it came out so well given our NELM of 3.5 but the IDAS narrowband filter did it's work. 4 minute subframes were the maximum I could get without skyfog destroying the frame - in fact I need longer frames to get better detail in NGC 3628.

Cheers,
Trev

I like it Trevor. The subtle colour is pretty much perfect. I mean you only really notice it in the NGC (bottom-right), but that's all you want. Any more colour and I would think it would start to look unnatural.

Thanks Seanie. The raw files were pretty green so that channel was reduced a bit.
