Had a go at M3 last night using the 10 inch. Toatl exposure about 15 minutes. Couple of line defects in it which I have to clone stamp out.

You got an awful lot of clear sharp stars there Kieran. The image seems high in the green end of the spectrum, but I know you said it still needs some touching up. The core versus the outer regions looks balanced very well, giving a sense of depth to the field of view. I like it!

OK Seanie. Changed the colour balance in the background.
Everytime I look at this image I keep humming the tune to Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. If I remember right, the closing credits were set up to look like travelling through the stars. In reality it was a sparkler or something similar cause you could see the sparks every now and then bouncing off the camera lens.

Smashing image Kieran. Very sharp focus you got there. Good to see the robofocus doing the job!

Robofocus is brilliant, even on the coarse focus knob. No more hanging around waiting for vibrations to settle out or cursing the Meade focuser. I was also using this object to test collimation but I think its good enough.

Kieran, I must say, that is one of the best images I've seen of M3 in a long while!
As Seanie said, the sense of depth is fantastic!
the colour balance is great,
How exactly did you take this shot...what kind of 10'' etc?....
