M101 from 18th April was created by phoenix
I was taking LRGB images of M101 last week and then moved on to M3 (image already posted). I got so caught up with M3 that I forgot to take darks for M101. The camera has a gradient from left to right which is more noticable on shorter sub frames ... with no dark frames this was the result which I have cropped to get rid of the worst of the gradient. You can still see a vertical line in the image due to the lack of darks

LRGB 60min:20:20:20 and guess what? My robofocus fell off. I said those sticky back strips were c**p. I'll have to get a more permanent solution.

Definitely your best image yet. Great details.
This show what a low surface brightness this galaxy has.
I haven't got to it visually, but its on my list.

Kieran,

Magic image. I love your colour balance in this one. If you can do this on M101 imagine what you can do with easier targets.

Well done!!

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.
