Jupiter animation was created by Frank Ryan
Here is the animation
Thanks to Dave for hosting it at webtreats.

It was taken over around 4 hours and
shows a transit of the GRS around most of the planet.
The seeing got worse as the planet dipped twords the horizon at dawn.
There are 10 individual frames,
each a finished image from a 2 min AVI captured through
a Philips SPC9000 webcam & ETX-125
Processed (roughly!) in Registax.
I have'nt colour corrected it yet,
I may not bother as I reckon it looks grand for what it is.
Got to try and catch me a transit of one of the moons now!

Wow Frank thats brilliant especially considering the low altitude of Jupiter. I really wasnt going to bother this year but now I've seen this I must give J a go. Well done great detail inside the belts and the GRS is v obvious.

I only see a still image, can you give us the link for the animation?

Dave, don't forget he is in southern Portugal, so he gains 15+ degrees more altitude then we do with Jupiter, almost doubling its altitude. I'm not even sure I'll be able to see it at all this year given nearby houses.

I'm gonna give Jupiter one last go tonight before we head home.
The weather has been hit and miss the past few nights and tonight
looks good (also with a transit of 2 of the moons)
so I'll see can I get that.
