I know this is history now, but I've just gotten around to processing. The occultation of Saturn on Tuesday 22nd was just stunning, despite the early hour. We clocked it at just over an hour beginning around 20:01:30 and ending later than expected at 21:07:30. Did not try to take a pic during the action as I wanted to enjoy the sight. This is a few minutes after the occultation. Not a great pic I'm afraid but it is just a single exposure. The only processing done was levels to bring up Saturn, unsharp mask and cropping, trying not to blow out the moon. Equipment used was a Canon 350D at prime focus on a Celestron C102SLT at ISO100, around 2 seconds exposure.

Fab image Paul, I love the navy background too (I know it's natural, it just looks better than black or some reason). Watch out, tiny Saturn!

I like the blue background too!
It gives a good feel for the time of day,
also gives a great perspective with the sizes.
