Jupiter last night was created by Frank Ryan
Well between the passes of the ISS and Shuttle I was honing
my focusing on Jupiter and testing the PC that all was ready to go.
I grabbed a few AVI's but I didn't think I'd get anything useful from them.
This image came out alright..
It shows a little bit of detail and 3 moons.
This was taken without a barlow for 3 min. and the frame rate was
30 per second which is why I'm thinking it beat the seeing.
Faster frame rates are the way to go I reckon?

Well done frank great detail. i was considering not bothering to imaging jupiter this year with its low altitude but. I'm now tempted but i would have to lug all the gear to some farmers field. and i'm thinking is it worth all the effort for 14deg altitude. what do you think?

Carl, if you did do that I'd think;
''Wow, he'd dedicated. As crazy as a sack of cats, but dedicated!''

A grand image there Frank.
I try never to go below 20fps when doing the planets, I prefer 25 usually.
Going at 5 or 10 is always a waist of time for me.

Isnt it a pity that Jupiter is soooo low this year :cry:
