Orion Nebula in feb was created by wellbuttie
At the weekend I decided to have another go at processing some shots of the Orion Nebula that I took last February and was surprised at the detail picked up by my humble setup..

Meade 6 inch Reflector 762mm FL, F5, 2x APO Barlow, Canon 350D DSLR ISO 800

A stack of 2 x 15, 20 ,and 30 second exposures, ISO 800. Processing completed in Adobe Photoshop CS2

Steve, for such little exposure time, that's a good image. The setup you have is actually quite interesting - most imagers are either in the wide-field or ultra magnification camp. You're kinda in between. I'd even ask you to take out the Barlow. Midi wide-field sounds cool!

Next winter, get a lot more exposures (even short ones are fine) and you'll surprise yourself at the improvement.

Cheers

Dave
