Carl - lovely images given the time you've had the imager. Number one is the best of the bunch.

A bit of feedback for you.

Image 1 - I can see the dark background of the original image pasted on top of a larger "very dark grey" border.

Image 2 - there's a funky green stripe (aurora? :D ) on the left of the image and a light "halo" around Saturn and its rings.

Image 3 - lots of noise in the background. a light halo around Saturn and a funky tope Aurora top left.

In all fariness, I'm just getting used to my new LCD monitors and whilst I have calibrated them, I might still have them too bright. I was looking at some of my old images which looked great on my old CRT but look pretty awful on the LCD...

If this is what you can do after just two months of having the new imager, then Lord knows what you can do this coming season! I think Mars might be a nice challenge for you

Hope the feedback is constructive and helpful to you.

Dave

Damien who?

Thanks for the feedback Dave. I like to get as much feedback as possible on the images one problem I have is i'm not use to image prosessing. Still learning the ropes on photoshop. I have a Hd screen on my laptop but when i look at other computer screens i can see what you mean.

I can't wait to get a crack as Mars.

Carl, I think you use the same laptop I have (the Toshiba Satellite HD True Brite?)
I bought this reciently and I have to say hands down it's one of if not the best laptop screen on the market today.
I've tested calibration images on it in comparison with a 40'' Bravia 1080 full HD LCD screen I found it to be perfect.

As Dave says, you can indeed see the cut and paste job of the 1st image
but I wouldn't get to worried about it. With practice this is easily avoidable.
(Check Damien Peaches website, some of his images from only a few years ago have the same thing.)

Can't wait to see your Mars shots!
