Blue skies...time to get the gear out! was created by Frank Ryan
So there is blue sky here at last!
I'm going to try to see & take one last daytime shot of Venus.
I'm itching to see the current phase & to see just how big the planet appears in the eyepiece.
(and to see do I experience the Ashen Light - I know it's a bit of a joke round here but important none the less to 'see' or 'not see' it purely from an observational standpoint.)

I'm going to try a split shift tonight and get up around 2AM to grab Neptune
as it's nearing opposition.
Not great in altitude yes, but i've yet to try this planet with the webcam and now I have the 5X astro-engineering barlow no better time I reckon.
I'm not expecting much by way of size or detail but I figure it's worth a go anyway.

Last year I just used the Eos 350D at prime focus and got a definate blue disc so I'll be interested to see what I can get with the webcam.

This is all of course if the thunderstorms stay away!

Yipee, remember that scene in the matrix where they go above the clouds and see the sun for the first time, I can relate to it

Remember the rest of the matrix where its perpetual clouds, I can relate to that too.
I was hoping to get a look at Venus today, but the clouds have come in early.
