I dont think it is the CCD because it only happened when the focal reducer is in use. I guess I need to make sure that the reducer is all tight next time then.
As regards stuff between the optics and the cdd, quite a lot of connections and adaptors came with the camera/filter wheel. I guess I shouldnt use them if they arent absolutely necessary to connect everything together. There was not much in the manual about what they do and some seem duplicate giving more chances for things to slip etc.
