You just learn more from just playing around and making the best out of what you get and look forward to the next time when you can do better.

I think I have made a huge improvement to this image.
Anyhoo... What i did was this.
In deepsky stacker I forced the use of the best green frame as a reference frame for both the blue and the red stack. This is done by bringing the frame into the stack, highlighting and right clicking the frame and "use as reference".
I made sure that I had unticked the frame in the images for stacking as obiously I didnt want the green frame to be stacked into the other colours. In this way when I came to combine all the colours were exactly matching. This also got rid of a lot of the gunk which appeared on the red stack.
I used IRIS to remove the gradient which also worked quite well and finally played with the black and white point in The Gimp.
Looking forward to my next attempt at something else soon

Dave,
If I was you I would also crop to remove the "errors" around the top and right of the frame. It would just make the shot a bit cleaner.
