M27 The Dumbell Through 80ED was created by carlobeirnes
Hi All,

Here is an image of M27 the Dumbell Nebula the plan was to get my first LRGB.But with the Irish weather not possible! so on the next clear night I will do my best to get the RGB. I'm very happy with the image for my second time out with the Camera.Any tips welcome



Image taken on the 15th August 2007 New Haven Observatory Balbriggan.Through a Celestron 80ED piggybacked on a CGE14" Telescope Unguided, ATIK 16HR CCD Camera 106x30 Sec Exposures, Darks 40x30 No Flats with 1x1 Binning.Processed in ImagesPlus V2.8 Curves and levels done in Photoshop CS2.

Magic Image Carl! Can't wait to see the LRGB version. Just wait till you get guiding sorted, we'll all be in big trouble if your first efforts are anything to go by!

Carl, get used to missing the RGB images. Our weather changes so fast you can get RG and clouds come in for blue. I have dumped tons of rgb efforts. If you have two nights clear sky go LRGB. You will need a good amount of exposure for each image plus you will also have to dump unwanted images due to sats, tracking errors, sky glow etc.

As for the image, if it was a line up in a police station I think you have caught him bang to rights.
