How to remove star trails in Photoshop was created by TrevorDurity
Hey guys,

I found a fantastic article on how to remove star trails from images. It's no substitute for messed up tracking but it does rescue some images. I was looking for something like this for ages & it turns out that it's really simple in photoshop (I'm using CS2). The article is here forum.ourdarkskies.com/index.php?showtopic=1246

Here's an example from my Dumbbell image I posted a couple of days ago. For some reason there was a bit of trailing on my Dec access - I think the strong gusts caused a rocking effect of around two pixels worth at 45 degrees. Take a look at the difference! Left side is the before and right side is the after. Hopefully the technique will be of help to others.

I used an offset of 2 vertical and 2 horizontal to round the stars.

Cheers,

Trev

Looks like its the biz Trevor, but while doing so, you have lost some of the brightness in the corner of your Dumbell that you show here.
