Canon D and AP was created by Frank Ryan
I've noticed sometimes when I am taking long exp shots with the 350D that the AV can go from 5.3 upwards...
Am I missing something here or what is the the most open fstop for the 350?

depends on the focal length.

Yep the widest f-stop is stated on the lens. It's a function of the lens not the camera.

I guess what I ment to say was that on certain occasions I can set it to
a lower f stop value in fully manual mode.

I think the min f-stop depends on what the focal length the lens is set to, its not a constant for all focal lengths.
The way I look at it is that its like a telescope whose aperture doesn't change but whose focal length does change, so its focal ratio changes as its directly related to the focal length, hope this makes sense.
(I could be wrong but that's how I understand it).

Is this experience with a fixed focus or zoom lens?
