October Sky at Night Mag - Hotshots

Hi all,

Got the October issue of S@N mag this morning. Congrats to Dave Gradwell - he won photo of the month in the hotshots section of the mag. The photo was a mosaic of active region 10960 on our friendly Sun from June 6th.

Can I also mention that Frank Ryan Jr (Barberskum I believe! If I'm wrong ignore all the next sentence! ) has an image on the cover disc so congrats there as well (not meaning to steal any of Dave's thunder!)

Seriously though, I've said it before but for the
size of our population we have a huge amount of astronomers / astro photographers.

Just got that today, I was fond of 10960 for a few days myself, great image. Looks great printed, I was really absorbed by the swirling motion on the solar surface close to this active region.
