Dave,
This is a very good start ... slowly increase your exposure times with more and more experience as well as being a little more careful with framing etc.
This is one great addiction ... and welcome to the club!

Thanks for all the kind words.

The camera is just fantastic. The fact that it is low noise and cooled makes it a winner. The capture software is simple if basic. But I especially like the focas assist function and have found that very usefull indeed. The only slight quible is it is just usb 1.1 so it take 3 seconds to download an image. But you just get used to that and also you can reduce the size of the download area of the chip which gets around this problem. Are you getting the HR or IC version?
John
I didnt manage to shoot the owl. Its definately on the to do list with ursa major down so low at the moment. Its alwost invisable without the uhc filter but with the filter it is obious.
Anthony
Yep just figuring out which exposure lengths are right without burning out the pixels in the middle
I have further processed the images of ngc 6946 and m57, they look a bit better now.

Great going there Dave!
I'd say it's a great buzz to catch something so faint you cant see it in the eyepiece.
I'm watching your learning curve with interest and looking forward to more.
Keep 'em comin'!

You can;t be too unhappy with those DeeBee. Now imagine what you can do once you get a guiding rig sorted!
