Jeez, Meade are really racing ahead in CCD land recently.
DSI III will be available in the US from November.
2/3", 1360 x 1024 Sony ExView HAD array.

Expensive at $1300 for an uncooled cam but I bet this will cause a drop in the price of the DSI II, which is a decent device.
Still no CCD from Celestron, I guess they are way too far behind now to even get in on that market.

Tad expensive but has the Sony chips which reputedly have very low noise and hardly need cooling.
I hope they use square pixels this time.

Correct me if I am wrong (stating this for curiosity reasons), but is that for better light gathering capabilities?

It makes it easier for working with some software programs. If the pixels aren't square and the program can only work with square pixels, it starts deforming the image.Correct me if I am wrong (stating this for curiosity reasons), but is that for better light gathering capabilities?
